Destructoid offers you the "ten most meaningful videogame quotes of all time", among them Zork's famous "you are in a maze of twisty passages, all alike", saying it is "simultaneously immersive and frustrating, beautifully worded but logically irritating" and "epitomizes both the strengths and flaws of the classic text adventure". High frequency for news this month, it seems: The infallible Harry Kaplan, famous for discovering the whereabouts of a number of Infocom authors, just dropped an email saying that David Cornelson, a prolific hobbyist writer of interactive fiction games, has started a company called Textfyre and is currently negotiating with Activision about licensing Infocom titles. After the failed attempt at a new compilation (see news from 2006), this might mean that fans have another chance at getting a hold of brand-new editions of their favorite games.

A small addition to Amy Brigg's biography: Ron Gilbert, designer of the "Monkey Island" series of games, revealed the interesting tidbit that he was babysitted by Amy. If she read Jane Austen novels to him and if that had an influence on his games is not known.
