the catalog becomes much more conventional again. Perhaps resources
had to be pulled out of the art department, as money once more becomes
a very precious good at Infocom (product catalog 1987).
This coincidentally is
also the year when the package design for the standard grey boxes
is changed to the more inexpensive slipcases.
The most probable cause
is that another CEO takes over at Activision, one that isn't really
too fond of Infocom.
And yet, everyone at
Infocom knows they are still good, very good. Although even on the
interactive fiction market, others
are already in hot pursuit...
